Women’s Role in Local Government

The role of women in local government is a very important topic and must be addressed.  LICP has taken on the responsibility to make this issue of importance in the different areas it currently works in; Salfeet and Tulkarem.  Five workshops, “Women’s Role in Local Government” have been planned of which four have been implemented.  Each workshop had a duration of three days at the following locations:

 Workshops were given by two trainers; Ghassan Daraghmah currently General Director of Jericho for the Ministry of Local Government and Mr. Sameer Dawabsha, Ministry of Local Government Director General in Jenin.  Both trainers have over 10 years of experience working with the Ministry. Participants included women from Salfeet and Tulkarem regions.  Some of the participants are council members of their local councils,  leaders in their communities and teachers among other professions.  The participants received certificates at the end of the 3 day workshop
